a bit about charisma, i think

it's amazing how some experiences give you ideas.
here's one idea i got recently:
when we talk in front of people, or talk about a certain topic (like what i'm doing at the moment, only i'm not talking ;] ) we tend to say stuff that sound really nice or really convincing. it gets everyone else's attention, not to mention support, and everything goes well.
well, i was trying to listen to a homily recently, and a thought came to my head. we say stuff that we won't normally say nor do. not that we're hypocrites, not at all. it's just, we tend to voice out things more when we're in the public eye.

indivisibility of atoms, where god came from, and the real measure of intelligence...

SERIOUS MATTER

"Where did God come from?" This question is probably one of the most mystifying questions of our faith. Who here can truly say that he knows where God came from? No one. Not even the wisest nor the holiest of all can give an answer that will satisfy the average person's thirst for knowledge. They say that because God is the ultimate being, nothing comes before Him. (Don't get me wrong; I am a Christian and I actively participate in church. This question more or less bugs us at a certain point, and I thought it would be best for me to let this out of my system.)

They also said the same thing about the atom. Remember John Dalton? One of the postulates of his atomic theory was that the atom was indivisible. Some time after, the modern atomic theory was 'concocted'. Now, that old postulate of Dalton has been disproved. Thanks to nuclear fission, the atom can be divided.

Let's shift our attention to other religions. Most of them are somewhat a collection of ideals formulated by a person (for example Buddha... no offense). What if history repeats itself? What if our religion was just an idea of a person, a way of giving hope to the people?

Think about it.

SERIOUS MATTER

Are grades/numbers really a measure of intelligence?

No.

We all know for a fact that there are basically two kinds of students: the ones who aren't really that intelligent but are very industrious (people at the top of the honors list, usually), and the ones who have been graced with talent but seem to lack a sense of responsibility (the nobodies... hehe). From that statement alone, you can all deduce what I mean.

The real measure of intelligence (for me, again) is not the grades. It's not the genius in a person either. It's how people use that genius. Everyone has an Einstein inside of them, not everyone uses it, though.

You may have been showered with artistic ability, but do you use it to your advantage? You may have been given an analytical mind, but do you apply it in school or work? You may have received "God's voice", but do you share it with everyone else?

Think about it.

kanta para sa iyo, kung nasaan ka man (asar ka, hahaha)

Do I Make You Proud
Taylor Hicks
I've never been
The one to raise my hand
That was not me
And now that's who I am
Because of you
I am standing tall
My heart is full
Of endless gratitude
You were the one
The one to guide me through
Now I can see
And I believe
It's only just beginning
This is what we dream about
But the only question with me now
Is do I make you proud
Stronger than I've ever been now
Never been afraid of standing out
Do I make you proud
I guess I’ve learned
To question is to grow,
That you still have faith,
Is all I need to know,
I’ve learned to love,
Myself in spite of me,
And I’ve learned to
Walk on the road I believe.
Everybody needs to rise up
Everybody needs to be loved
To be loved
Everybody need to rise on
Everybody needs to be loved, to be loved
This is what we dream about
But the only question with me now
Is do I make you, do I make you proud
This is what we dream about
Never been afraid of standing out
Do I make you proud
Stronger than I've ever been
Never been afraid of standing out
Do I make you proud
Do I make you proud

still no classes..... grrr

it's been soooo long since i've been in the classroom... and at this very moment, i am at home, waiting for the time to speed up... still no classes today... grr... haha, you must think i'm weird for wanting to be in school. i'm telling you, if you've been cut off from your classroom as long as i have during the school year, you'd feel the same way. plus i never had fun during the fair (centennial celebration of our school), well i did but not that much... and then there was my boring birthday (august 2) which is always near testing dates... haha... i miss everything: the classroom, the mess, the people, the work... but i do love the review sessions... hehehe. cards are due this week, hope my grades aren't as low as i hope... =)
